S-400 deliveries to India to start next year

India will start receiving Russian-made S-400 air defense systems in 2021, Vladimir Drozhzhov, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, said at Defexpo India 2020, an International Land, Naval and Internal Homeland Security Systems Exhibition in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Yesterday, Denis Manturov, Russian Industry and Trade Minister, officially announced that Russia’s Almaz-Antey started producing S-400 air defense systems for India, while the entire delivery, according to Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport arms exporter, will be accomplished in early 2025.

Currently, a training center is constructed in India to train S-400 operators. The center will be launched next year.

The amount of the contract signed in 2018 is $5.43 bln.
