Sberbank and NVIDIA start working together on artificial intelligence

SberCloud, the cloud service provider of Sberbank Group, and NVIDIA, a global leading producer of high-performance computing equipment and AI platforms, have signed an agreement on creating and deploying AI products and services to the Russian market. David Rafalovsky, Executive Vice President of Sberbank and Head of the Technology Block and Jaap Zuiderveld, NVIDIA’s Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and India signed the agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

During this cooperation, SberCloud will create AI Cloud — an innovative product that is to be built using NVIDIA DGX-2, the world’s most powerful AI system for the most complex AI challenges. NVIDIA DGX-2 is the world’s first 2 petaFLOPS system that combines interconnected GPUs for the highest levels of speed and scale.

“The speed of innovative development primarily depends on technological solutions that enable specialists to turn their ideas into reality. Partnership with NVIDIA, a global leader in high-performance computing and advanced artificial intelligence solutions, combined with the SberCloud platform will help Russian companies and the scientific community to obtain extremely powerful AI tools. We believe that this will play a significant role in bringing AI to the market,” David Rafalovsky, Executive Vice President of Sberbank and Head of the Technology Block said.

AI Cloud will be SberCloud’s first product based on the AI solutions created by Sberbank over the course of many years. Partnership between SberCloud and NVIDIA will make Data Science as a Service accessible to both major Russian corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises, and also scientific and educational institutions.

A single management portal will let users of AI Cloud work with all the key areas of AI: speech analysis and synthesis, computer vision, text and symbol recognition, a decision support system, and automated training of computer systems.
