A schoolgirl from Novosibirsk has designed a robotic street cleaner capable of detecting waste. Her project has been approved at a conference in St. Petersburg.
To develop her robot, the schoolgirl independently read books and worked on the project under the guidance of her teachers. The robot will be fitted with a video camera and a built-in computer. Artificial intelligence will scan its surroundings using the camera, process the picture and detect waste. The robot will then drive up to the place needing clearing, collect the garbage and put it in special containers. These robots will also be capable of waste sorting.
In the near future, the schoolgirl’s invention will be tested on the streets of Novosibirsk. She has already presented the robot at a conference in St. Petersburg and received an award for the project.
