US dollar drops below RUR 69

The Russian ruble continues to get stronger against the US dollar. On Tuesday, the dollar was worth less than RUR 69 at stock exchanges, the Moscow Stock Exchange reported.

As of 10.48 am Moscow time, the dollar went down to RUR 68.96 and the euro down to RUR 76.79 thanks to the growing oil prices. Brent oil currently costs $38.71, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Experts note that the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause pressure on global trading. Tensions between the United States and China are affecting the markets as well. Traders are also noticing the protests in the States that are reflected in the value of the US national currency.
