Virologist says COVID 19 outbreak has not reached peak

The novel coronavirus outbreak is not yet even midway, prominent virologist Anatoly Altshtein said.

According to him, the pandemic has crossed the threshold of 6-8 generations of the coronavirus, while the usual number of generations to a pandemic is 20. This means it will take more time from this point on than the period that has passed since the onset of the infection.

The expert added that any forecast is just hypothetical and no one actually knows what will happen next, Tsargrad channel reports. Nevertheless, the pandemic will possibly end at the end of May. The virologist also expects lower mortality from the coronavirus with time.
