Vouchers make a comeback in Russia

Aeroflot management has proposed issuing vouchers to passengers whose flights have been canceled. This means the refund for tickets will be suspended.

Aeroflot CEO Vasily Savelyev made a proposal to legitimize vouchers. According to the airline executive, a relevant bill could be adopted as an anti-crisis measure relieving carriers of having to refund their customers in cash, writes RBC. Instead passengers would receive vouchers they would be able to use to buy tickets in the future.

A similar proposal has already been made by the Association of Air Transport Operators. Representatives of the non-commercial union said airlines need to keep liquidity to cover other crisis-inflicted costs.
