WeWork to present Russia’s largest coworking space

US company WeWork that builds collaborative workspaces all over the world has rented a 5,000 square meter office on Moscow’s Belaya Square and is going to transform it into a coworking workspace.

The workspace will be designed for those who work remotely as well as for self-employed people and sole proprietors and will be located in a class A office building, which is the highest class in the mass segment. The new WeWork coworking space will become one of Europe’s largest and the largest coworking space in Russia.

WeWork is the world’s second largest company engaged in transforming buildings into coworking spaces and workspaces; for instance, the company is the biggest private office tenant in Manhattan: it occupies some 5 mln square meters! Interestingly, such a large player focuses not on large corporations, but on many separate and short-term tenants, which proves how fast the global economy changes, including the Russian economy, despite the sanctions and isolation.

Just a while ago the workspace market in Moscow was not recognized as promising, while both common workers and sole proprietors used the existing spaces, as well as libraries and workstations.
