Yandex has developed an autonomous delivery robot that does not have to be operated by humans.

Dubbed Yandex.Rover, the robot is a six-wheeled platform with a luggage compartment. It is 50 cm high and can move along sidewalks at the speed of 5 kmph. The robot is equipped with a navigation system that allows it to calculate its own route. The robot is capable of maneuvering around obstacles and pedestrians, RIAMO reports.

The company is currently testing its new invention on site. Yandex.Rover delivers documents from the headquarters to a bus outside the gate. However, in the future, Yandex plans to employ the self-driving robots instead of human couriers, including for food delivery.
