Russia cuts down on classified weapon exports

Classified exports, or Russia’s supply of goods that belong to secret categories of customs statistics, went down by 13% in 2019 compared to the previous year, according to the statistics of the Federal Customs Service.

Classified exports include weapons, ammunition, natural gas and aircraft. RBC reports that Russia’s classified exports may also include self-propelled armored vehicles, military aircraft and radioactive elements.

In 2018, the value of these products exported to other countries was $63.8 bln. In 2019, this indicator went down to $55.3 bln. Classified exports account for the significant 13% of the total Russian exports.
