Workers are already building the right-side tunnel between the Mnyovniki and Ulitsa Narodnogo Opolcheniya stations of the metro’s Big Circle Line, Moscow Mayor’s official website repoprts.

The tunnel will be located 44m beneath ground level, also passing 13m under the Moscow Canal’s riverbed.
There are plans to complete the project in 12 months, by late 2019. The first passengers will be able to use this section already in 2020.
The Big Circle Line will be located ten km from the metro’s Circle Line (No. 5), allowing passengers to shuttle froma district to district without having to hit central Moscow.
Today, this is a key metro expansion project. The 70-km Big Circle Line will have 31 stations, with a good deal of them providing seamless connections to other metro lines and Moscow Central Circle (MCC) stations. 22 Big Circle Line stations will turn into transit hubs. There are plans to complete the entire Big Circle Line by 2023 or even 2022.
The Big Circle Line will carry at least 100 percent more passengers than the MCC. It will help establish new lateral links between numerous city districts. Traveling time will be reduced by between two and three times on some routes.
Trains running along other metro lines and stations near the Big Circle Line are expected to become less crowded. New radial metro lines can be added to the Big Circle Line, reaching into other city districts that are still hard pressed for metro stations.
