Jobs in the oil and gas sector were named the most financially rewarding in 2018.
Russian Statistics Service released data on hourly wages in various sectors of the economy.
As in the previous year, in 2018 professionals working in the oil and gas industry earned the highest wages in the country. They were paid 793 rubles ($12) per hour, or 130,000 rubles ($1,994) per month.
Oil and gas are followed by the tobacco industry where the hourly wage is 739 rubles ($11.3), or 121,000 rubles ($1,855) per month.
The coke and oil product industry comes third paying 735 rubles per hour ($11.2).
Healthcare and social services have the fastest growing wages in Russia. For example, last year monthly earnings in these jobs increased by 23% and reached 43,000 rubles ($659).
The income of fishermen and fish breeding specialists as well as end product manufacturing workers also increased, by 18%, reaching 103,000 rubles ($1,580) and 49,000 rubles ($751), respectively, Izvestia reports.
