The company joins the campaign of Moscow authorities intended to fight COVID-19 by distributing information on possible contacts with the sick individuals. The check-in requirement will be gradually implemented in all 189 McDonald’s restaurants in Moscow within a week.
To register, visitors of McDonald’s have to scan a QR-code and verify their phone number. No other personal information is required. Entire registration information is to be stored in Russia in a secure data center.
All McDonald’s visitors will immediately be informed of a potential contact with a contaminated individual in case that individual at a later stage has a positive coronavirus test result. The visitors who were in that restaurant in about the same time will be subsequently notified of the occurrence.
