The coronavirus pandemic is reformatting the labor market. According to experts at the Institute for Progressive Education think tank, companies in the tourism market will be the first to have to downsize their workforces.

Experts note that the biggest layoffs will hit travel agents and tour guides. Tourism is one of the industries that has been most affected by the outbreak. A number of companies have been forced to stop operations and many will leave the market this year.

Airlines have also been badly impacted. Some of them may go bankrupt; as a result, many professional pilots will be back on the market boosting competition for the jobs still available.

The fitness industry is struggling, too; not all fitness centers will have all their customers back after the pandemic, and coaches will lose employment.

Other professionals likely to be affected by the ‘coronavirus layoffs’ are bank managers, event managers, realtors, private tutors and translators, experts note.
