Experts of the Russian Quality System and the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare conducted a joint research into mobile apps for telemedicine services to find out which of them are most convenient to use.
Remote medical consultations during the coronavirus quarantine have become more popular even in Russia that accounts for only 3% of the world’s telemedicine market (experts, however, predict a boom of telehealth services very soon).
In the Russian segment of App Store and Google Play, the best apps for iOS and Android are SmartMed, Doktor Ryadom Telemed and Yandex.Health.
Still, experts only evaluated the available features, security and convenience of the mobile apps rather than the quality of the participating doctors’ services.
Whether patients receive accurate diagnosis via their smart phones, whether examination is sufficiently thorough (for example, it is possible to measure and monitor heart rate) and whether medical advice is up to high quality standards, the Russian Quality System is yet to find out.
