The coronavirus pandemic isn’t ending, says member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Maleyev.
According to Viktor Maleyev, the virus is likely to remain in the population in the long-term, with one infection being replaced with another. He believes that the spread of the coronavirus cannot be contained due to air and railway travel. The pandemic will definitely not end before the New Year.
The expert also believes that the virus will re-emerge annually like the seasonal flu: there have already been new outbreaks in Spain and Italy. However, it is still difficult to forecast a second wave of the pandemic, Regnum news agency reports.
