Despite the media hype of the past two years, cryptocurrency remains the least popular payment method for online payments. Kaspersky Lab experts conducted a research that indicates that cryptocurrency payments are far behind credit card payment and even PayPal.
The research found that only 13% users pay with cryptocurrency while 81% use credit cards. Cryptocurrency is thus the least popular payment method for online purchases. Cryptocurrency is even behind PayPal although experts claim that, despite the drastic plunge, users are still interested in bitcoin and other digital money. Experts also found that online payments remain rather risky as 26% of internet users lost their money in wire transfers.
The Kaspersky Lab survey involved almost 12,500 respondents from 22 countries.
