Cutting-edge artificial skin technology developed in Buryatia

The production of NovoSkin, a new brand of artificial skin, has begun at an industrial park in the Republic of Buryatia.

This is the region’s first biotech product and the world’s first advanced artificial skin technology. The high-tech, cutting-edge product is based on the collagen-laminin matrix and innovative cell technology. It will be used in regenerative medicine to treat wounds and burns. The technology does not use human cells, only animal fat. It is expected that the product will be available at pharmacies and people can use it themselves.

The project is being implemented by SheneSkin, part of Diamed Group. Head of the republic Alexei Tsydenov attended the opening ceremony of the new facility. Last year, the regional government presented the company a grant worth some RUR 10 mio ($160K) for the best innovative project.
