The government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the AB InBev Efes brewing company have signed an agreement to launch an agroindustrial program in the region. The implementation of the program will increase the volume of malting barley grown in Tatarstan by 3,900% by 2023.
The agroindustrial program will improve the quality and yield of malting barley grown in the republic and will promote the development of crop breeding and new technologies, including those to reduce the environmental impact. The program will also create jobs in agriculture, processing and related industries.
AB InBev Efes will provide Tatarstan’s farmers with the access to the SmartBarley technology platform which analyzes the crop yield of malting barley.
