Experts reveal number of female top managers in Russia

Women in Russia are at the helm of only 6.5% of large corporations, according to a Deloitte research.

The number of women executives across all Russian companies is rather high, with one in every five companies having at least one female boss.

This statistics is lower than in Europe where women lead almost 35% companies; however, it is still higher than the global average. Still, the larger the company the fewer female managers it has.

In Russia, women top managers are more common in small companies making up to RUR 800 mio ($11 mio) per year. When it comes to large corporation, the share is only 12%. Only 6.5% of the Top 200 major Russian corporations have women in their top management.

The majority of female top executives can be found in the education industry where they lead almost half of all existing projects, RBC reports. Mineral production, government bodies and law enforcement account for the lowest number of women with high-ranking titles.
