Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had talks in Moscow with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove, Foreign Ministry’s website reports and cites Lavrov as saying, “Our cooperation encompasses the socio-economic, humanitarian, military, military-technical and, of course, foreign policy spheres. We give high priority to our joint action on Abkhazia’s economic and social development. The 2017−2019 Investment Program to Promote Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Abkhazia is being successfully implemented. The Russian Federation remains Abkhazia’s main partner in terms of foreign economic activity. The goal of the Russian-Abkhazian business forums, which are being held on a regular basis, is to promote the development of the countries’ relations in this sphere as well. An increasingly important part of our bilateral relations is the cooperation between Abkhazia and the Russian regions, which show keen interest in working together.”
