The Ford auto concern may curtail the import and production of passenger cars in Russia as soon as in summer 2019, keeping its presence in the country only in the segment of light commercial vehicles and SUVs.
Such steps are the result of the restructuring of Ford Sollers, which will announce its post-reorganization structure on March 27. Earlier reports mentioned the possible closure of two Ford plants in the Russian Federation – in the Leningrad Region and in Tatarstan.
The Ford automobile giant was the first major international company to open car assembly facilities in Russia in 2002.
