Investors will spend $115.7 bln on development of robots and drones

Robotics and unmanned aviation technology will receive $115.7 bln in investment next year, 17.6% more than was spent on these projects in 2018, IDC global market intelligence company reports.

According to analysts, in four years, annual investment in the development of robots and drones will grow by 20%, to $ 210 bln. The biggest investment, according to IDC, will go into robot projects. In 2019, $103.4 bln will be invested in them. Projects to develop UAVs will receive far less, just over $12 bln. Of that amount, $5.1 bln will be invested in the development of consumer drones.

This year, $98 bln was allocated to develop UAVs and robots. According to IDC, most investments in robots and drones are made in China, closely followed by other Asia-Pacific countries, the United States and Western Europe.
