A new oil and natural gas deposit has been discovered in Russia’s Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, not far from the region’s border with the Krasnoyarsk Territory; the new project was named Novoogennoye.
The exploration and prospecting was carried out by RN-Vankor, part of the Rosneft oil conglomerate.
The company’s petroleum engineers have estimated the area’s recoverable reserves at over 20 mio metric tons of oil and about 1 bln cubic meters of natural gas.
