New port complex to appear in Leningrad Region

The Leningrad Region has signed a strategic agreement on the creation of the Primorsky  Transshipment Complex in the Vyborg County as part of the strategy to redirect Russian foreign trade cargoes from the Baltic sea ports to the Russian sea ports.

Some RUR 90.6 bln ($1.4 bln) will be invested in the 780-hectare area. The terminal will create 3,130 jobs and will load and discharge coal, mineral fertilizers, containers and grain.

The launch of the Primorsky Transshipment Complex with the annual capacity of 70 mio tons is planned for 2022.
