A road map for blockchain development in Russia will be developed by June 2019. The officials plan to invest RUR 10 to 15 mio in each blockchain project. In total, over RUR 4 bio will be spent on supporting developments based on early-stage straight-through technology this year.
The officials are working on a selection procedure for major research centers. A draft resolution has been developed and submitted for approval of the government. The centers will build digital platforms for Russian research and developments, including those that use blockchain technology. It is planned that by 2020 the centers will create at least 18 technology programs and two platform prototypes.
In addition to blockchain, road maps on other straight-through technology will be prepared, including the Big Data, neurotechnology and Artificial Intelligence. Curators of the road maps have already been determined. They are Sberbank, Rostelecom, Mail.Ru Group, Yandex, Russian Post and some others. Tenders for road map development operators will be finished in late March. Funding of the road map related projects will also be based on tenders. In 2019, more than RUR 20 bio will be allocated for these purposes.
