Nine Russian coronavirus vaccines may prove effective

Vaccines developed by Russian scientists could save the planet from the pandemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized nine Russian vaccines as promising for fighting COVID-19. Six of these vaccines were developed by the Vector State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology.

In the past, the center developed vaccines against other dangerous diseases such as Ebola.

Currently, there are 83 prospective vaccines that could stop the global pandemic. Most of them (77) are undergoing clinical trial. The other six are being tested on humans, Russia Today reports.

The UK is conducting the human testing involving over 800 volunteers. Some of the volunteers were injected with a coronavirus vaccine while the others received a meningitis shot. None of the patients know which vaccine they received. This will help the scientists to compare the effectiveness of both vaccines.
