A paraformaldehyde production facility will be built at a site of Metafrax, a public joint-stock company based in Gubakha, Perm Territory. The facility with a designed capacity of around 30K tons per year is scheduled for launch in 2021.
Paraformaldehyde is becoming more commonly used for sanitary purposes thanks to its high disinfection properties. Specifically, the substance is used for disinfecting and sterilizing medical appliances as well as for decontamination of various spaces and animal enclosures.
The construction project was funded by a concessionary loan of RUR 500 mio ($7.6 mio) from the Industry Development Fund under an agreement with Metafrax.
The company began building the facility last year and expects to spend a total of RUR 5.2 bln ($79.5 mio) on the project.
