Mobile network providers will be able to block mobile numbers of convicts serving prison sentences, according to a new bill submitted to the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.
In order to prevent fraud or coordinated action by members of criminal groups, mobile operators will be obliged to block numbers based on decisions of local bodies of the national penitentiary system.
