Production of solar panels begins in Chuvash Republic

Russia’s Hevel Group has opened a production facility to manufacture double-sided solar modules in Novocheboksarsk, Chuvash Republic.

The front side of the module produces around 380 watts of power. In all, the annual capacity of heterojunction solar modules was increased from 160 MW to 260 MW. This will allow for meeting half of Russia’s solar energy market demand.

The company invested over RUR 2.5 bln ($49 mio) in the expansion of production, with RUR 1 bln being allocated by the Foundation for the Development of Single-Industry Cities, and RUR 500 mio by the Industrial Development Fund.
