Russia to create a high-tech digital economy

Russian President held his annual direct line broadcast by a number of TV channels and radio stations. He answered numerous questions and covered various subjects.

Speaking of the national development, he noted that the authorities “should pinpoint the main sphere where we must achieve breakthrough development, as well as the main goals in terms of global trends, and we must decide what we must do and what we must strive for. The main thing is to restructure our economy, to create a high-tech digital economy with elements of artificial intelligence, develop unmanned vehicles, develop infrastructure.”

He also mentioned that “Russia fell short by about $50 bln as a result of restrictions starting in 2014. The European Union lost $240 bln, the US $17 bln and Japan $27 bln.”
