Russia to use domestically made pipeline hydraulic systems

The Techprom – Oil and Gas Systems company, which received a preferential credit of RUR 244 mio ($3.4 mio), has completed modernizing its production of electrohydraulic drive systems, which will allow for using solely Russian-made electrohydraulic units at local gas pipelines.

The company’s produce includes hydraulics systems for ball valves that can operate without electricity and do not require warming up in the temperatures between – 60°C and 50°C.

The preferential credit, provided by the Industrial Development Fund, has allowed for efforts to develop production of such drives, which resulted in solely Russian-made electrohydraulic systems utilized at Russia’s main pipelines, such as Nord Stream 2 – that is, in complete import substitution in this area.

A total of RUR 416 mio ($5.8 mio) has been spent for the project implementation.
