Russian airlines increase passenger traffic

In January-November 2019, Russian airlines transported 10.6% more passengers than in the same period last year, 119.2 mio, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported. In November, Russian airlines served more than 8.9 mio passengers, up 4% compared to the same period last year.

In November 2019, Aeroflot served 2.8 mio passengers, unchanged from last November’s level. At the same time, other Russian airlines showed passenger turnover growth, including S7 (up 47% to 1.2 mio) and Pobeda (up 37% to more than 871K). In November 2019, more than 692K passengers (up 12%) used the services of Ural Airlines, and Rossiya Airlines transported 612K passengers (down 5%).

Air transportation in Russia has been growing for the last three years and continuously since the beginning of the year. In 2018, Russian airlines served 116.1 mio passengers, exceeding the 2017 figure by 10.5%. In 2017, they carried 105.1 mio passengers, or 18.6% more than in 2016.
