Russian drone escorts a fighter jet

The Russian drone Okhotnik (Hunter) has performed a flight in conjunction with the Su-30SM fighter. The plane and the drone flew together at high altitude at a coordinated speed.

The joint flight of the aircraft and the drone was needed to check its systems against those of a combat aircraft. The video posted by the Ministry of Defense shows how the drone accelerates along the runway to a speed approximately equal to that of a passenger plane at take-off. Then the aircraft makes a number of aerobatics including flying sideways for some time.

At some point, a combat fighter joins the drone hovering on the side of the aircraft and covering it, TASS reports.

The combat drone was developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. Its maiden flight lasted 20 minutes at an altitude of more than 600 meters. Outwardly, the drone resembles a wing with special coatings making it invisible on radars.
