Russian Helicopters head to LIMA

Russian Helicopters (which is part of Rostec State Corporation) will take part in the 15th Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’2019) between March 26 and 30 in Malaysia.

According to the corporate website, Russian Helicopters’ key exhibits will be Mi-171A2 and Ansat civil helicopters that participated in a unique demonstration tour across Southeast Asia in the end of 2018. The two helicopters flew about 5K kilometers with demonstration shows in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia. Another exhibit will be a new utility helicopter Mi-38 that occupies the niche between Mi-8 medium helicopter and Mi-26 heavy helicopter.

“Following the results of the Heli Tour, we negotiate projects for the supply of Mi-17 type (including Mi-171A2, Mi-17-1VA ‘Flying Hospital’), Mi-38, Ansat, Ka-226T and Ka-32A11BC helicopters to Southeast Asia countries. In accordance with the requests for helicopters delivery received during the Heli Tour, we negotiate configurations along with financing structure of the helicopters delivery”, – Igor Chechikov, Deputy Director General, said. “During LIMA’19 we plan meetings with partners from Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. We also actively work with our Vietnamese customers for coordinating terms of civil helicopters supply.”

Following last year’s demonstration tour, Russian Helicopters secured firm contract for the delivery of Ansat helicopters to China and gathered several soft contracts from Asian partners for Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters.
