Sergei Katyrin: Russia as attractive to investors as before

Seventy-five countries were represented at the 2019 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The largest delegation came from China, followed by the United States.

This demonstrates that foreign investors never lost interest in our country. Yes, some investment projects are suspended or frozen but nobody is leaving the Russian market,” said Sergei Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a comment for Invest Foresight during a news conference ahead of the 16th Golden Mercury national business awards for entrepreneurs.

It is through organizing fairs that we create conditions for Russian businesses to enter foreign markets, assured Nikolai Gusev, First Deputy Director General of Expocenter.

“We organize around 15 fairs every year. In 2018, we helped 182 Russian companies to find foreign clients. There have been contracts signed for children’s furniture and folk arts and crafts. Products of our small and medium-sized businesses are unfailingly of great interest to foreigners.”
