Skolkovo to start training top healthcare managers

Natalya Komarova, Director of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo’s Healthcare Development Center, presented a unique multi-module educational program, Healthcare Management: Leaders of Change.

The presentation took place as part of the business lunch, Biohacking, or Raising Living Standards and Improving Doctors’ Efficiency Through Advanced Technologies, organized by the school.

“Despite Russia being on par with many developed countries as regards available healthcare professionals, the country does not even make top 50 of healthcare efficiency rankings,” Natalya Komarova noted.

The latest research has revealed that chief medical officers in Russia lack required leadership qualities and necessary strategic and creative thinking skills. Among the problems of training heads of Russian healthcare institutions, Komarova also mentioned a lack of knowledge and skills in medical service marketing, personnel management, business planning, and financial analysis.

“Those heads of clinics seeking to boost their management skills will be able to become true leaders of change and help drastically improve the quality of healthcare services provided,” she concluded.

The Moscow School of Management Skolkovo will start the Healthcare Management: Leaders of Change program on November 1.
