
A 400 sq. m. suture thread manufacturing plant has opened in Krasnodar in southern Russia. The project is worth RUR 130 mio ($2.04 mio).
The facility was opened due to the assistance from the Center for Investment Project Support, and will produce surgical threads of several types, made from both synthetic and natural materials. The plant will mostly manufacture atraumatic needles with sutures that comprise a pre-packed needle attached to a suture thread. The enterprise will produce up to 2 mio of suture kits per year.
The plant currently employs 20 people and plans to increase its staff to 40.
