On 28 September, an open vote began as part of the final stage of the World Travel Awards, where Moscow is nominated in seven categories, Moscow Mayor’s website reports.
The most attractive city destinations, the best tour operators, airlines, resorts, hotels and other representatives of the tourism and hospitality industry have been nominated in more than 80 categories.
This year, Moscow has been nominated for the World’s Leading Business Travel Destination, World’s Leading City Break Destination, World’s Leading City Destination, World’s Leading Cultural City Destination, World’s Leading Festival and Event Destination, World’s Leading Heritage Destination and World’s Leading Sports Tourism Destination.
Anyone can take part in the voting on the award website until 25 October. The World Travel Awards winners will be announced at a final online ceremony on 27 November.
Last year, Moscow won in the World’s Leading City Destination category of the World Travel Awards. Other nominees included London, New York, Lisbon, Paris, St Petersburg, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro.
