
The period of non-working days will end on May 12 in Russia, according to President Vladimir Putin.
The President said that the six weeks of non-working days allowed “freezing” the epidemic and preparing the healthcare system.
Vladimir Putin stressed that the fight against the pandemic continues; however, it is now possible to start relaxing the lockdown.
Putin announced that the country will be opening up gradually. Self-isolation will still be mandatory for people over 65, RIA Novosti reports.
The President also stressed that the advanced safety regime will remain in force after May 12 meaning that all mass public events will still be prohibited.
