Yandex has developed and is currently testing an AR-based app that can be used as a virtual fitting room. The app called Sloy can recognize items of clothing in video clips.
Sloy is a very similar app to Instagram. There is a feed of recommended videos and friends’ posts, a tab for scanning and recognizing clothing on video, a tab for video recording as well as the user’s profile. Opening a video clip on his feed, the user will see information about recognized items and other recommended videos.
Sloy has been in development since the beginning of the year and so far has been tested by a hundred fashion experts. The official launch is scheduled for September.
