Sberbank has issued a digital credit card, the official website reports. The card can be issued via Sberbank Online, both mobile app and web version.
The digital credit card has no physical representation and can be used right after signing a loan agreement, which is also available online. Filling in the card paperwork will only take several minutes. The digital credit card options are not different from an ordinary plastic card; it can be used for online and offline shopping at stores, money transfers and withdrawals. The digital card can be exchanged for a plastic one at any bank branch at the client’s request.
“Nowadays a plastic bank card is being gradually sidelined, as we more often use a smartphone or smart watch as payment means. Taking into account this trend, we issued a digital debit card in 2018, and now we complemented our digital product line with a credit card. This card has several benefits: it takes several minutes to issue before you can start using it, you can have it issued at any place using your mobile phone, such cards can’t be lost, stolen or forgotten; at the same time, the card service is free for clients as the bank saves on physical card issuance. As a result, our clients can enjoy a convenient and modern digital product,” Svetlana Kirsanova, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Head of the Retail Business, Sberbank, said.
