On May 29-30, the seventh international Startup Village 2019 conference, the largest event for Russia and the CIS countries in technological entrepreneurship, was held at the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
The conference intended to discover inspiring projects was attended by over 1K representatives of the investment community, and in just two days more than 10K people from 85 countries took part in the event.
The business program of Startup Village 2019 included over 150 events dedicated to the innovative business subject. The Startup Bazaar exhibition was operating at the conference site where about 200 innovative companies presented their projects.
As Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Skolkovo Foundation, noted, “Startup Village is a living environment that should form new acquaintances and partnerships in the business community, and should serve as the basis for further appearance on the market of new technologies.”
According to Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation, “Accelerators have different selection programs and methods, but they are all united by one goal – to help technology companies to get their revenue. The ecosystem of the Skolkovo Innovation Center is ready to cooperate with any foreign teams – both the accelerators and the startups. We want to help to provide the international market to Russian developments as well as to open the way to Russia for the foreign technological innovations.”
“All startups need to understand that the market entry scheme is different in each country. In Russia, for example, certain steps are needed, and in the USA steps are completely different. We have been working in Russia for a long time and highly appreciate the cooperation experience with the Skolkovo Foundation. There are a lot of wonderful startups here, with one of which we have already confirmed the partnership,” Brian Frumberg, Founder of the VentureOut accelerator, said.
As Frances Simovits, Managing Director of NUMA Accelerator, pointed out, “NUMA works all over the world, most actively in the USA. But in Russia we really like it too. Here, at Startup Village, we have already held meetings with the representatives of some startups. These are smart people who clearly say what problems they experience and what kind of help they need. And we are used to help these people.”
