Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, webpage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to Lavrov, “Russia-US cooperation is below its potential”, yet bilateral “trade has been steadily growing over the past two years. Last year it reached $25 bln. which is less than the record $31 bln in 2011.”
He also noted “steady increase in reciprocal investment. In general, it reflects the persistent interest of US companies and the reciprocal interest of Russian investors in the US. We are willing to facilitate the development of business ties, to upgrade economic cooperation and improve investment climate. We would like to attract foreign business, including from the US, and create favorable conditions for it.”
The Minister welcomed efforts of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, US-Russia Business Council, and the Russian-American Council for Business Cooperation in expanding economic ties.
