Ivanovo Region launches large livestock production facility

A large industrial livestock production complex has become operational in the Gavrilov-Posad County in Russia’s Ivanovo Region.

The facility is currently operating in a pilot production mode, with the first batch of 1,400 head of livestock delivered.

The production capacity is estimated at some 7,200 tons of pork per year and expected to substantially satisfy the local pork demand as its overall production in the region will increase threefold.

Total investments in the project will amount to some RUR 2.1 bln ($34.3 mio), including RUR 1.8 bln as a subsidized loan allocated by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture for the construction and launch of the facility. The investments arrive in several installments: in 2018, the project received some RUR 500 mio ($8.2 mio), and in 2019, over RUR 1 bln was allocated.
