The localization of industrial production remains a strategic priority for Russia, senior officials said at the 15th annual INNOPROM international industrial trade fair held in Yekaterinburg.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin attended the event and spoke at the main strategic session titled “Technological Leadership: Industrial Breakthrough”, according to a statement on the government’s official website.
During a tour of the exhibition, government representatives, including Mishustin, repeatedly inquired about the degree of localization in showcased products, said Evgeny Mozhaev, Deputy CEO of the federal trading platform TEK-Torg.
“Some of the equipment presented at the exhibition is assembled using Russian-made components,” Mozhaev said. “For the government, building an independent component base remains a key objective. The primary goal is to mitigate risks related to external dependencies.”
He noted that the focus is on critical sectors such as engine manufacturing, aviation, medical equipment, transportation, and locomotive production. These areas are considered essential to national security and infrastructure, rather than merely desirable industries.
“The localization trend continues as a means to strengthen national resilience, and the results are already becoming visible,” Mozhaev added.
