The personal data of Russians who received microloans in 2017-2019 have been leaked online. Hackers are selling the database with 12 mio records like debtors’ passport and phone numbers.
The personal data went on sale in late March. Sellers provided open access to the information about 1.8K clients, RBC news agency reports.
In addition to passport and phone numbers, the information includes the sum of the loan and e-wallet numbers.
Experts note that the leak happened at a microfinance organization. Many people whose personal data leaked online received microloans at Mikroklad. The company has over 200K clients.
Experts believe that the leak could have happened after the unloading of databases from the server of the company that services the microfinance organization. It is impossible to determine which company leaked the information. It is possible it was a cyber attack at the server.
