Moscow has opted for non-commodity and non-energy exports

The Made in Moscow programme is designed to promote goods produced by local companies on international markets. The city supports exporters at all stages whether it be subsidies, incentives, training workers or creating modern infrastructure. As many as 400 companies will join it in 2019, Deputy Mayor and Chief of the Moscow Mayor and Moscow Government Staff Natalya Sergunina pointed out.

“This year alone, 400 companies will join this project. Over a period of the last couple of years slightly over 400 companies have been helped by us. They represented Moscow at 21 technology fairs in places like Germany, France, Spain, Finland and the UAE, where they signed contracts to the tune of some RUR 753 mio. Another 450 contracts worth approximately RUR 2.5 bln are in the pipeline,” the deputy mayor noted.

She said that Moscow as an international intellectual and financial centre has opted for non-commodity and non-energy exports and has promptly surged ahead of the other Russian regions. Moscow-based companies produce and export products in over 7,000 classes to more than 180 countries, including in the field of optics, electronics, medical equipment, IT solutions and other sorts of technology.

As part of the Made in Moscow programme, which was launched in 2016, the city finances up to 100 percent of the cost of business participation in the world’s leading industry fairs and also organises the entrepreneurs’ business meetings with potential foreign partners and investors.
