A number of Moscow restaurants suspended regular services switching to delivery instead during the pandemic, the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers said.
According to the Federation, turnover in restaurants fell by 30–90%; their owners are asking for government support. On the other hand, food delivery services seem to be thriving – Yandex.Eda said the number of restaurants and cafes applying to join the system has doubled.
We do not yet have the exact number of restaurants that closed, Kommersant writes. It is only known that most members of the Federation suspended operation. The Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers asked the Government to grant them holidays on their utilities payments, and to provide interest-free loans.
