The Kirov Region on the Volga has opened a new substation on the local grid in a grand ceremony attended by head of the region Igor Vasilyev and IDGC of Center grid company CEO Igor Makovsky.
The new 110/35/10 kilovolt step-down transmission substation, Urvantsevo, is mainly aimed to facilitate the southwestward development of the region’s central city, Kirov, its Urvantsevo and Metrograd neighborhoods, as well as the villages of Doronichi and Sadakovsky. It will also take part of the workload off the existing 110-kilovolt substation, Kommunalnaya, and ensure a more reliable power supply to the city.
