The Novosibirsk multipurpose nuclear submarine has been launched in Severodvinsk.
The launch ceremony took place at the Sevmash Shipyard. The Novosibirsk is the second submarine of the Yasen-M class and the first to come into mass production. Plans call for equipping it with Oniks and Kalibr submarine-launched cruise missiles, and later the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile.
